It’s been a while since I have written a blog. Almost 6 months now. A lot has happened in the meantime. I’ve been on trips, sat exams and played a lot of sports. I will explain as much as I can in this blog and the blogs in the future.
First of all, I sat my end of year exams around the start of june. Only the main subjects such as maths, science, english and others have end of year exams. End of year exams are the exams you have at the end of year. No pun intended. You participate in a series of tests across the academic year and the EOY exams count for 60% of that and your sets for next year. For me that will be in year 10. Overall I think I did the best in my science and geography end of year. I find out my results in the next week or so.
Over the last couple years I have played a lot of sports. I have stopped playing some, and started playing new sports. But one sport I have stuck with and will continue into next year is football. I have played a lot of positions in football over the last couple years. I started as a goalkeeper but then shortly after a few months it was too boring and I wanted to be outfield. I switched to being a defender (which I was pretty good at being) but then I also rarely played in the midfield. I was one of the best at being a defender in my team. However, even after being a defender for a year and a bit I didn’t feel like it was right. Something wasn’t right. I have decided to want to be an attacker. A striker to be specific, someone who can score goals and not be scared outfield.
To practise being a striker and someone who plays upfield I have been practising more with my friends and also in training, in the matches I have been playing as a striker. I have been playing well as a striker and who knows maybe next season I’ll be a striker. We’ll see.
Just last week I had a school trip to a campsite in Dover and sooo much happened. We did countless amounts of activities. For example, we climbed up walls while being attached by a harness, paddle boarding and going on water inflatables with my friends. We slept in tents with our friends and participated in an event called superteams. It is where groups of 4 go against each other in different fun activities. Such as egg running, putting your head on a bat and spinning around really fast making you dizzy. And also tug of war. At the end of the event somehow my group ended up winning it, receiving some free snacks. We slept in tents with our friends in our sleeping bags. But even with our sleeping bags it still wasn’t that comfortable. The food wasn’t great either but being able to buy lots of sweets and snacks made up for it.
We even went to the cinema but sadly ended up watching a movie that was the only alright one out and that wasn’t 15 as we were all 14. It was inside out 2 and unless you’re 10 or over i wouldn’t recommend watching it. We were allowed to bring money on the trip and because I had some left I went into a store with some friends and bought some sweets and snacks.
The summer holidays are soon and I can’t wait to go on holiday abroad. However, whenever I have fun, the holidays go so fast and then I end up waking up for school and entering the next academic year. I can’t wait for year 10 with all the exams and teachers suddenly turning all strict. It’s the end of the blog now, have a great rest of your day and i’ll write soon.
